Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully, as using or purchasing from our Website means you agree to them.

Making a Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier.  Just browse our store and add any items that you wish to buy to the Shopping Cart.  After you have finished your selection, click on ‘Checkout’ and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.  We make every effort to ensure that the prices displayed on our website are accurate.  However, we reserve the right to validate all prices before we process your order.  All prices are displayed in UK Pounds and are inclusive of VAT.

We accept payments via PayPal, which accepts credit / debit card payments or payment through an existing PayPal Account.  You do not have to have a PayPal Account in order to use the PayPal payment process.  Alternatively, you may print out your order and mail it to us with a cheque in sterling pounds (drawn on a UK Bank) made payable to ‘Jan's Handcrafted Cards’.  If your cheque should be returned unpaid, a £5 charge will be added to your balance to cover our additional bank and administration charges incurred as a result.  We expect to receive cheques within seven days of you placing your order. 

 If we do not receive payment within that time, we reserve the right to cancel your order and the card you have ordered will no longer be reserved.  If paying by cheque, we may not despatch your order until the cheque has cleared.  We do not currently accept American Express, cash or cheque in any currency other than sterling.  All orders are to be paid for before despatch.

When placing an order you are making an offer to purchase the goods contained within that order.  We reserve the right to accept or decline that offer.  When a confirmation of order e-mail is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order; it does not indicate that a contract exists between us.  We will indicate acceptance of your order and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice.  We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular card for some reason.  In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

We make every effort to ensure that all goods on our website are described accurately; however we will not accept liability for any errors in the description of goods on the website.  We will attempt to correct any problems as soon as we are aware of them.  Illustrations and descriptions of products are provided as a guide only.  Actual products may vary slightly.  All product measurements are approximate.  Product colours may vary.  Descriptions such as ‘Gold’, ‘Silver’, ‘Diamond’ etc refer to the colour and not the precious metal or gemstones.  All cards are supplied blank inside for your own message unless otherwise stated on the description.

Shipping and Handling

All orders are shipped via 1st Class Royal Mail unless otherwise requested; please contact us for pricing and information for any alternative method.  Postage and Packing for all orders under £10.00 will be charged at £1.00 per order.  For orders over £10.00 Postage and Packing is free of charge.

For orders over 750g please contact us for postage information and pricing.

Royal Mail states that compensation claims for lost post cannot be made prior to 15 days after despatch.  We therefore will only send out replacement orders or issue a refund after 15 days from the date of posting should your order not arrive.  When placing your order please make sure you specify the correct delivery address as Jan's Handcrafted Cards take no responsibility for missing parcels that have been sent to the wrong address.

If you have correctly entered your e-mail address when placing your order online, we will e-mail you to confirm when your order has been processed.  If you do not receive your order within 15 working days from the date you placed your order or the date your order was posted to you, please contact us.  We will assume that your order has been received in a satisfactory condition if we do not hear from you within that time.  This does not affect your statutory rights.

Delivery Schedule

We will normally send your order to you within two working days of acceptance of your order and orders are processed in the order in which they are received.  We will contact you if there is likely to be a delay in despatching your order.  Delivery times may vary slightly depending on the volume of the order; we also have to allow for longer delivery times at busier seasons during the year i.e. Christmas.  We do stress that we cannot be held responsible for any delays within the postal system, which are beyond our control.

Back Orders

We are sorry, but we do not currently place items on back order.  If there is a specific item that you would like to purchase but it is not in stock, please e-mail us and we will notify you when it will be available to purchase.

Guarantee

Your satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us.  Should you received any consignment from us that is damaged, please advise us immediately.  All our cards are in cello bags for protection and posted in padded bags so that they reach you in perfect condition and we would request you obtain, where possible, evidence of damaged packaging BEFORE opening it.  A claim for compensation if appropriate will need to be submitted to Royal Mail.If any item sent to you by us is faulty or incomplete by an error on our part, please contact us immediately and we will arrange for a replacement to be sent at our cost, or a refund provided if we deem it appropriate.  We reserve the right to request you return the faulty/incorrect goods if required.  Any goods returned must be unopened and in their original packaging.

Returns Policy

If you are returning the card because you have changed your mind, you are then responsible to return postage and packing costs.  A refund of the initial order price (excluding postage) will be issued upon receipt of the undamaged card.  We cannot pay for the cost of the return postage.  Please note that Personalised and Bespoke Cards cannot be returned unless there is an error that has been made by us. If you wish to cancel an order after despatch you must return it to us at your own cost in perfect condition within 14 days of receipt.  We accept no liability for parcels despatched to us but not received.  A cancellation charge of 25% will be deducted from your refund.  Your refund will be issued within 14 days of the receipt by us of the returned goods.

Children under 3

We would like to point out that some of our cards have small parts on them that might become loose and then become a choking hazard.  Therefore some of our cards are not suitable for children under the age of 3.
